Your Impact:

When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re helping our clients protect our world’s natural resources. As an Jr Aquatic Biologist, you will provide technical support on the aquatic biology and water resource permitting components of our challenging natural resource projects, work with a team of biologists.

Based in western Canada you’ll have the opportunity the chance to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams to contribute to the environmental planning and permitting and efforts of government and privately-owned infrastructure projects as providing technical support for the duration of construction of those projects. On projects, you will have the opportunity to support the execution of the work including data collection efforts, as well as assist with the development of methodology, technical reports, and regulatory applications. This position will be a 6-month contract that can be based out of one of our western Canada offices (Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria); however, alternate locations may be considered based on the individual applicant. Here’s What You’ll Need:

Here's what you’ll need:

• Masters or bachelor’s degree in fish or aquatic-related studies, or equivalent demonstrated experience 1-3 years of directly relevant experience conducting and managing aquatic studies (such as fish and fish habitat assessment and water quality monitoring)

• Strong field skills and experience conducting aquatic field work in remote settings

• Knowledge and understanding of fisheries and aquatic environmental assessment methods, as well as mitigation measures to maintain the aquatic habitat

• Must have driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Relevant oil and gas and regulatory experience is an asset

• Knowledgeable with the Federal Fisheries Act, and other relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation in western Canada

• Hold or be eligible for P.Biol. or R.P.Bio. Certification
